Elizabeth (Betty) Zeiler

Elizabeth (Betty) Zeiler passed peacefully away at her home on Feb. 3, 2021. Betty was born in Powell, Wyoming on June 24, 1930. Betty attended St. Patrick's elementary school and then on to Senior High School. After graduating, she met and married Ray Zeiler in Dec. of 1949.

Betty and Ray soon moved to the family farm west of Billings where they farmed and raised cattle for many wonderful years. Ray passed away in 1993 and Betty remained living in Montana until 2012 when she took a leap of faith and moved to Beverly Hills, Michigan to be near her two children, Carolyn (Mike) Hefner and Stephen Zeiler (Karen, deceased), both residents of Beverly Hills.

She is survived by her grandsons, Christopher (Paige) Hefner and Patrick (Marissa) Hefner both currently living in the Denver area, and her two granddaughters, Sarah Zeiler of Beverly Hills, Michigan and Laura Zeiler of Boise, Idaho. She was also survived by two great grandsons, Michael and Ray Hefner of Littleton, Colorado. A graveside gathering will take place in Billings, Montana, at a later date. We so appreciated your entry into our father´s (Gene Zeiler) memorial guestbook several years ago. I am sad to hear of Aunt Betty´s passing. Greg called last night and told me of Aunt Betty´s obituary. Hearing of Aunt Betty´s passing triggered both our memories of many large family reunions and other fun times at the family farm and Gramma and Grampa´s house in town. Betty was a wonderful lady. As their banker I had the privilege of working with both Ray and Betty when they were in the cattle feeding business. During that time we became close friends. After Ray passed away Betty continued to stay in touch to discuss " what to do with the feedlot" and later other financial matters. She reminded very much of my own mom and it was always a pleasure visiting with her. My deepest sympathies and condolences go out to her family. She will be missed.
