Erlene Schmidt

MOLT - Erlene Bernice (Bermes) Schmidt, 45, passed away Monday, Dec. 30, 2002, at her home. She was born March 10, 1957, in Billings, to Ervin Roy and Donna Mae (Schultz) Bermes. She attended Molt Elementary School and graduated from Billings Central High School in 1975. On Nov. 4, 1975, she was united in marriage to Clinton C. Schmidt in Molt. She worked at the Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch before becoming a mail contractor in Molt.

Erlene enjoyed softball, square dancing, cross-stitching, reading, cooking and home decorating and sewing. She had a collection of Holstein cows. She was a 4-H leader in the Molt community and a member of the Broadview Booster Club.

Erlene is survived by her husband Clint; son Kyle and daughter Megan, all of the family home; mother Donna Mae Bermes of Molt; sister Beverly (Larry) Swanson of Pendroy; sister Barbara (Larry) Adams of Billings; brother Kenneth Bermes of Rapelje; and sister Karen (Mike) McCord of Molt; numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father, Ervin Bermes; and a nephew, Nathan Swanson.

A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Interment will be in Yellowstone Valley Memorial prior to the service. A reception will follow the memorial service at St. Thomas.
