Frank E. Goble, age 70, of Billings, passed away on June 13, 2004, at his home, with his loving wife, Mary, and Si at his side.
Frank was born on July 10, 1933, in Lingle, Wyo., to Albert and Frances Goble. Upon graduating from high school in Morrill, Neb., Frank joined the United States Navy. Frank proudly served aboard the USS L.F. Mason, a destroyer, during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in May of 1954. Frank married Ellen Lillie in 1955 and they had two children: Si and Natalie.
Frank was involved in the transportation industry throughout his life, from being a driver to management. He drove everything from buses for Trailways Bus Lines to long haul trucking with Raymond Corcoran. Frank ended his driving career working part-time for Rimrock Stages where he thoroughly enjoyed driving charter buses, especially for Skyview High School teams.
Frank was an avid sportsman who enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, hunting, skiing and bicycling. Mary and Frank were married Feb. 14, 1986, in Cody, Wyo. They enjoyed the Montana sunshine and outdoor life.
Frank was from a large family and he was the youngest of six children. His parents and siblings precede him.
His wife, Mary; his son Si and grandson Zachary; and daughter Natalie Rudolph and grandsons Dustin and Travis survive him. Two stepdaughters, Christine (Jeff) Mathis and their children Cecily and Declan and Lori (John) Emmett also survive him.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday June 18, at the American Legion Post 4, 1540 Broadwater Ave., with food and fellowship immediately following.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the USMC Toys for Tots Program.
