Gloria Carmelita (Lavenger) Williams, 70, of Billings, passed away at home on May 7, 2011.
Gloria was born to Jim and Liz Lavenger on June 17, 1940, in Blaine County, the third of 14 kids. She married Bob Williams of Helena on March 1, 1960, in Salt Lake City. During Bob's military service, which spanned 20 years, they lived in several different locations, including Germany, Hawaii and Kansas. They also lived in Virginia, where Gloria excelled in archery and bowling, earning several trophies, and where she also received her LPN certification. Gloria was a certified gourmet cook and a member of the Little Shell Tribe.
Survivors include son, Fred Williams of Billings; daughter, Tysha Williams of Havre; grandchildren, Brittney Belgarde of Havre, Brandon Belgarde of Billings, and Brevon and Brendan Bacon of Havre; brothers, Ed and Mike Lavenger of Havre, Bill, Gary, and Bob Lavenger of Billings, and Jack Lavenger of Missoula; sisters, Edie Hebig, Betty and Karen Lavenger of Billings, Ruby Chavis of Willingboro, N.J., Elaine Morin of Chinook, Cheryl Lavenger of Marysville, Wash., and Phyllis Trotchie of Havre; numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob; nephews, Marshall Snider, Trevfis Ivey; and niece, Debra Levinger. Apologies to anyone we may have forgotten.
Vigil services for Gloria will be 7 p.m. Friday, May 13, at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in Chinook. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 14, at St. Gabriel's. Rite of committal will be in the Chinook Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Dahl Funeral Chapel and memories may be shared with the family at www.dahlfuneralchapel.com.
