Jane Bolzer Obituary

COLUMBUS - Jane Bolzer, 68, of Columbus, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sept. 19, 2013. Janie was born Sept. 23, 1944, in Big Timber, Mont., to James and Betty (Olin) Faw. She was the second of five children. Jane attended grade school at the Dry Creek Country School, Big Timber High School, Business College in Billings, and would later transferred to Kansas City. Upon graduation from Kansas City she travelled to Washington D.C. to work as a stenographer at the capital.

On July 19, 1964, she married Larry Bolzer after he returned from Germany. To this union were born two children: Greg and Becky. Larry preceded Jane in death in 1991.

In 1995, Jane met Roger Hanson with whom she would live with until her death. In 1996, Jane and Roger would take on the task of raising Jane's 2 ½ year old grandson Taylor. Together she and Roger would be a constant presence at all of Taylor's sporting events.

Jane worked at the Stillwater County Courthouse for many years in many different departments, she also volunteered on the Columbus Ambulance for many years. Through the ambulance she would meet and keep many friends.

Jane was preceded in death by husband Larry, her father Jimmy, her brother William James, and her sister Donna Cox.

She is survived by her special partner Roger Hanson; her two children, Greg and Becky (Jack) Wegner; her three grandchildren, Taylor Bolzer, Jaymi and Cody Wegner; her mother Betty Faw; sisters Nellie (Dale) Vise, and Peggy (Wade) Cumin; and her nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wed., Sept. 25, at Community Congregational Church, Columbus. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Columbus.

Memorials are suggested to: Columbus Fire & Rescue or Heart Association. Smith Funeral Chapel assisted with the funeral.
