Joseph Beckhardt Obituary

Joseph Beckhardt, 88, of Billings passed away March 1, 2006.
Joseph was born Nov. 3, 1917, in Baltimore, the son of Joseph Beckhardt Sr. and Lillian Smith Beckhardt. He was raised in Sykesville, Md., and graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1934. He married Audrey Weaver on June 17, 1939.
Mr. Beckhardt worked all his life as an electrician and was business manager of Local 28, United Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union. Before retiring, he worked as an electrical inspector for Washington (D.C.) Suburban. He also served in the Army.
Survivors include three sons, Joseph (Gail) Beckhardt III of Maryland, William Brian Beckhardt of California and Alan Louis (Leila) Beckhardt of Reedpoint; one brother, William (Nancy) Beckhardt of Barrington, Ill. Mr. Beckhardt has three grandchildren, Diane, Joanne and Joseph Alan; three great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Joseph was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Audrey; six sisters, Mamie, Helen, Betty, Annabelle, Patricia and Lillian; and one brother, Louis.
A memorial service will be planned for a later date at Smith West Chapel.
All memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Montana Chapter, 3010 11th Ave. N., Billings, MT 59101.
