Kenneth Haun Obituary
PRYOR - Kenneth L. Haun was called home by our Heavenly Father in the early morning hours of Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005, peacefully at home with his soul mate by his side. He was 67.
Kenneth was born on March 5, 1939, to Dave and Mollie Haun in Hardin. He was next to the youngest of five children. His family later moved to Billings, where they grew up. As a young man, Kenneth was a Golden Gloves Boxer title holder. He was also a pitcher in the American Legion Baseball program in Billings.
Kenneth married Theresa Birdhat on Nov. 1, 1968, at the First Christian Church in Sheridan, Wyo., officiated by Minister Lloyd R. Sparks. The couple moved to Pryor and lived there for 36 years. Kenneth was employed at Sage Engineer, Quality Concrete and Empire Sand and Gravel. He retired in 1995. Kenneth was a true outdoorsman and had many fishing and hunting tales to share with his grandchildren. He also took pride in sharing with his sons and grandsons his extensive knowledge in auto mechanics.
Kenneth's parents, sister, June Haun, brother, Ron Haun, uncle's, George, Phil, Adolph, and Jake Haun, and grandson, George "Ice" Monroy preceded him in death.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Theresa Birdhat Haun; sons, Carlos (Marilyn) Monroy, Sr., Richard (Orvilene) Monroy Sr., Alvin (Valerie) Plain Bull, Garren (Laval) Goes Ahead, and Leo Monroy; daughters, Kathy (Haun) and Ertis "Rickey" Fighter, Jr., and Carla Ann (James) Wilson, Sr.; grandchildren, Carlotta (Cody) Ware, Kathleen (Travis) Dorsey, Carlos (Ada) Monroy, Jr., Carl (Sarah) Monroy, Richard (Francesca) Monroy Jr., Adam, Zach, Kevin, Samantha, Christian, Catherine, Kyra, Calista, Ritchellena, Freedom Monroy, Angela Goes Ahead, Joshua Wilson, Kasey Fighter, and Chad (Irvina) Turns Plenty; great-grandchildren, Darrelyn, Darnell, Famous Left Hand, Jediah, Seidell, C`celya Skye Plain Bull, Zepheniah Monroy, Alonzo Goes Ahead of the family home, Austin, Ra`el and Tronson Monroy, Sona`a Monroy; adopted children, Anthony (Alma) Davis of Crow Agency, Dean (Constance) Bull Shows of Pryor, Gwen Lamb of Billings, Tina (Fred) Plain Bull of Arizona, and Alvin (Terry) Yarlott of Yellowtail; sister, Janet (James) Paris of Great Falls; brother, Dave Haun, Jr., of Billings; an uncle, Alec Haun; and extended families of Oswald, Bresters, and Franks.
Husband, Dad, Grandpa, and Brother. You will always be a part of us and in our hearts and thoughts forever. We all know how hard you tried to do the right thing. You were kind, compassionate, and a caring man. We know how much you loved all of us and how proud you were of your basketball players. We all know God has accepted you in His grace and you're in a better place. We will all miss you!
Visitation for Ken will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at Dahl Funeral Chapel in Billings. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, at Arrow Creek Christian Church in Pryor. Interment will be in the Pryor Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Dahl Funeral Chapel in Billings.
