Larry Williams was called to his Heavenly home on February 17, 2026. He was born on August 8, 1948, to Everett and Mary Williams. After growing up in Billings, Montana, he graduated from Billings West High School in 1967. While in high school, he met his future wife, Victoria Turner. They were married in July of 1967 and would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary this year. From this union, three daughters were born: Cindy, Rebecca, and Amie.
After graduating from Oklahoma Baptist University with a degree in business, Larry pursued several careers, including sales, retail management, detention officer, office manager, business owner, and most recently Integrated Business Solutions Manager for Napa Auto Parts. He also served as a pastor of Berea Baptist Church and chaplain to Yellowstone County Detention Facility. Larry was most proud of his ministry work and cared deeply about the lives he touched and the people he served.
He loved all things John Wayne and had an impressive collection of memorabilia. Larry was also a small-craft airplane pilot who loved to fly. In his younger years, he owned his own plane and even piloted his wife, brother, and sister-in-law on vacations. He competed in the Peaks to Prairies Race for several years, both soloing the entire race and participating in individual legs in other years. He was also an avid golfer who truly enjoyed his time on the links.
Larry cared deeply for people and collected friends too numerous to count. He couldn't go anywhere without running into someone he knew and stopping to visit-often for hours. He had a special love for babies and was known for gently taking one from a mother's arms during gatherings to give her a break while he enjoyed loving on the little one.
Larry is survived by his wife, Vickie; his daughters Cindy (Jeff) Kern, Rebecca (Ben) Ostermiller, and Amie Williams; his grandchildren Kady (Joey), Zack, Lukas (Chelsey), Gabbie (Parsa), Emaliegh, Tyler, Aubreahna, Tucker, and Jentry; four great-grandchildren, Jesyka, Olyvia, Bransyn, and Blayke; three step-grandchildren, Kylie, Katie, and Madison; and two step-great-grandchildren, Mila and Summer; his brothers Jim (LeeAnn) and Jerry (Pat); his sister Jean; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Mary Williams; his grandson, Toby; and numerous aunts, uncles, and extended family members.
He was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019 and faced his treatments with hope and optimism, remaining joyful and faithful until the end. As his life drew to a close, Larry found peace in knowing that when he took his final breath, he would be home with Jesus, where he would hear the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!" (Matthew 25:21).
Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held on March 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Faith E Church, 3145 Sweet Water Drive, Billings, Montana.
