Lois F. Wellard
NAMPA, ID - Lois F. Wellard, 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 12, 2024 in Nampa, Idaho.
She was born in Billings Montana on April 3, 1942 to Maynard & Julia Grelck. As a young girl Lois was active in 4-H taking home numerous ribbons from the county fair. During her childhood she learned sewing from her mom and gardening and working in the yard from her father. Lois attended Billings Senior High and graduated in 1960. She went on to work for a transport company in Billings as a secretary.
Lois married Lyle Adams in 1966 whom she had two children with, Craig and Jana. They moved to Pocatello in 1976 and was later divorced in 1978. She later married Gordon Wellard and they ultimately were divorced as well.
Lois worked for the Boy Scouts of America at the Grand Teton Council office in Pocatello where she was a secretary for the council director. She later went on to work for the Pocatello School District transportation department where she was a secretary there and later retired from working in 2004. After retiring she worked part time with the Pocatello School District administering the Idaho Reading Indicator (IRI) tests which she thoroughly enjoyed. She also worked part time for Express Personnel as a secretary.
Lois enjoyed working in her yard and was so proud of her flowers every year and kept her yard looking top notch. She was an accomplished bowler and participated in bowling leagues throughout the years. She loved sewing, baking and always enjoyed playing cards with her friends. She was especially proud of her grandchildren and loved attending their lacrosse games and gymnastics meets. She looked forward to traveling to see her sister in Oregon and spending time with her and her children.
Lois is survived by her sister Audrey Wentz, Eugene OR., her son Craig (Jenaee) Adams, Meridian, ID, her daughter Jana (Brandon) Crowe, Boiling Springs, SC., five grandchildren, Hailee and Macee Adams and Jacob Douglas, Max and Sam Crowe. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents, Maynard and Julia Grelck. There will be a viewing at Cornelison Funeral home on Friday May 17th at 10 am, with graveside services at Restlawn Cemetery following the viewing. There will be a get together at The Sand Trap starting at 1 pm following the graveside services. In lieu of flowers the family asks you to plant a perennial flowering plant in her honor.
