Martha Faller Obituary

GREAT FALLS - Martha Alexine LaForge Faller, 60, of Great Falls, formerly of Lodge Grass, died June 5, 2011, in Great Falls.

Awaxaa'we-Hee'leen-Balaxish "Sings in the Mountains" was born April 30, 1951, in Crow Agency as daughter of Alex and Maxine Bull Shows LaForge Sr. She received her early education in Lodge Grass, before graduating from Riverside Indian School in Oklahoma. She returned to Montana and attended the Dahl Beauty College in Great Falls. She was a Montana registered beautician.

Alexine married Russell Faller on Sept. 16, 1980, in Great Falls, and the couple made their home in Great Falls. She was a member of the Piegan Clan and was a child of the Greasy Mouth. She attended the Catholic Church.

Her parents, husband Russell, sister Gladys and brother Daniel LaForge preceded Alexine in death.

Survivors include her daughters Yvette Lopez and Vanessa Faller; her son Daniel (Sylvia) LaForge; seven grandchildren; her sisters Diana (Kenneth) Spint, Colleen (Gary) Gordon, Vaschelle Lynn LaForge and Rosie (Earl) Bear Crane; her brothers Luke (Analicia) Enemy Hunter, Aaron and Alex (Janice) LaForge Jr.; her mother-in-law Helen Faller; adopted brother John Pretty on Top; as well as her extended family including the Bird in Ground, Takes Horse, Bull Shows, Old Elk, Martha Beaumont family, Sun Goes Slow, Dillon, Yellowmule, Gladys Pease family, Red Wolf, Cordelia Real Bird family and Nathelle Jefferson family.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11, in the Crow Agency Spirit of Life Foursquare Church. Interment will follow in the Lodge Grass Cemetery. Bullis Mortuary has been entrusted with the arrangements.
