Michael Shawn Freeman was called home by Jesus Christ his Savior to join his mother and grandmother on June 28, 2015.
He was born July 30, 1979 to Darlene Johnson and Benjamin Franklin Freeman in Tulare, Calif., and spent his childhood in Tulare with his family and was fondly known as "grandma's boy" among his cousins, as she spoiled Michael. He enjoyed sports: football, basketball, baseball, and track. He graduated from High School in Pennsylvania in 1997.
Michael was an avid 49ers and Golden State Warriors fan. He enjoyed cars, music, his Rottweiler, Nadja, and time spent with friends and family.
He proposed to his fiancé, Hannah Reno, April 10, 2015, with his children by his side. Michael's universe was centered around his children. His most recent Facebook post to his kids on May 22nd, "I love you guys. You guys are the reason I work so hard at never being broke. It's a Freeman's world. #Freemansworld"
Michael is survived by his children: Elijah, Karmyn, Adrian, Serenity, Makiah, Jordyn, Khal'ee, and Michael. He is also survived by his father, loving brothers and sisters, cousins, and extended family in Montana and California.
Visitations will begin Thursday morning, July 2 at Smith's Downtown Chapel. The funeral will be at 10 a.m., July 3 at Smith's Downtown Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, a fund has been established in his name at Valley Federal Credit Union for his children. Condolences may be left for the family at smithfuneralchapels.com.
