Michael George Smith, 68, of Shawmut passed away Friday, March 14, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 23, 1956, in Choteau, Mont. to his parents George and Ann (Komarek) Smith.
Memorial services will be Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 1 p.m. at the Harlowton Faith Chapel. Pastor Jerrod Williams will be officiating. Please join the family following the service for a reception at the Shawmut Community Center.

Got to spend time speaking at Montana Cowboy Hall of Fame February 2024. His parents were special to my father Don Abarr who was being inducted. So happy we were able to reminisce and visit regarding our parents.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Mike´s passing (Davide let me know). While I only had the privilege of working with him for a couple of years, he made a lasting impression on me. His kindness, guidance, and leadership were truly appreciated, and I feel fortunate to have had the chance to learn from him.
Please know that my thoughts are with you during this difficult time. I hope you can find comfort in the many memories of the positive impact he had on all of us who knew him.
