Vern Conolly Obituary

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
- Revelation 22:13

LEWISTOWN - The Shepherd has called home another member of his flock. Vern Samuel Conolly, 54 of Lewistown, left this world for everlasting life on Friday, May 20, 2005.
Vern was born and mostly raised in Valentine, Mont. For most of his adult life, he enjoyed spending time with his uncle, Benes Marinoff on the Marinoff Homestead, east of Valentine. Vern was an avid hunter, fisherman, motorcyclist and adventurer. He believed in living life to the fullest, had an unshakable faith in God which he loved to share with others. When he wasn't busy with the previous activities or at work as a Detention Officer for the Fergus County Sheriff's office, you could find Vern playing cards with friends, working with his guns or traveling and exploring some new and exciting spot in the great outdoors of Montana. He dearly loved to find a new "secret" fishing hole.
Vern attended a one-room school on the prairie by Valentine, Lewistown Public schools and graduated high school in Ventura, Calif. He attended Buena Venture Community College in the early '70s. He then returned to Montana for the rest of his life. Vern attended the Celebration Community Fellowship. He was a member of Fellowship Foresters, Eagles, ABATE and the Bow Hunters Association. Vern enjoyed being of service and loved lending a helping hand.
On April 17, 1998, as Vern describes her, he married his "sweet lovely little wife," Daylene.
He is survived by his wife Daylene; daughter Lynda and her husband Jeff Staw; granddaughter, Adrienne Grieve of Billings; his three sisters of Lewistown, Gail Granot, Arlee and Glenn Richards, Doris and Rick Beihl. Vern was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and June Conolly; and "Unkie" Benes Marinoff, all of Valentine.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 28, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, at 2 p.m. A celebration of Vern's life will be held following services at the Celebration Community Fellowship, 415 West Janeaux Street, Lewistown.
Vern had a great sense of humor, an enthusiasm for life, and squeezed all the essence out of it, to the last. We will miss you much.
Memorials can be made to Central Montana Hospice.

I know you will truely be missed but never forgotten! I did not know you personally, but had occasion to do "business" with you while visiting with a friend at your place of employment. What a beautiful, caring man you were!

GOD BLESSES THOSE WHO GRIEVE.
