Jimmy D. Parker, (Pop) 83, of Trussville, Alabama passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 11th, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his children. Jimmy was born on January 9, 1939 to the late Bruce W. and L. Mildred Parker of Birmingham. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce S. Parker and Brother Larry J. Parker. Jimmy is survived by his four children, Paul D. Parker of Mesa, AZ, Paula P. Reid of Moody, Suzi B. Foley (Joseph) of Albertville and Dr. Jeff Parker (Angie) of Chelsea, as well as 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers: Dr. Jerry L. Parker (Sandra) of Mountain Brook, Billy W. Parker (Sandra) of Adamsville, a sister Barbara P. Mims (J.D.) of Bessemer, AL and sister-in-law Jackie Murphy (Bob) of Kimberly. Jimmy was a devoted father, friend and loved by all. His kindness and willing to help others made him a remarkable man who touched the hearts of many. As a young adult, he obtained a degree in Electronic Engineering. He retired after 50 years as a Broadcast Engineer with WBIQ Channel 10 and WBRC Fox 6 in Birmingham, AL. Jimmy loved flying, hunting, fishing and spending time with his children. He was a man of many talents and could fix just about anything. A graveside service for him will be held at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville, AL on Monday, January 17, 2022 at noon, with Bro. Les Clements officiating.

We are so sorry to hear of Mr. Parker's passing. He was well loved at WBRC. Mr. Parker could get a live shot tuned in like no one could. Rest well Mr. Parker.

Jimmy was one of the best and kindest engineers at WBRC I had the honor of working with. My dad immense respect and condolences to his family. He´s with his beautiful wife again. God bless you all.
