Judy Hays Ellis
ELLIS, JUDY HAYS, age 59, of Mountain Brook, died Saturday, November 11, 2006. Mrs. Ellis was a graduate of Auburn University where she was a Phi Mu Alumni and studied for her Master at Mississippi State. She retired from the State of Alabama Department of Labor after 29 years. She was also the first woman that served as secretary, treasurer, vice president and president of the association I.A.P.E.S. Mrs. Ellis also enjoyed working with the Salvation Army. She enjoyed flea markets and lunch outings with her friends and family but her favorite was to watch Auburn football and court TV shows. Mrs. Ellis was predeceased by her father, Leonard Hays and a niece, Anne-Marie Graphos. She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Larry Ellis, her devoted daughter, Ashely Ellis; by her faithful cat, Delilah Belle and her grand cat, Amelia Gray. Also left to treasure her memory are her mother: Anne Hays; brother, Leonard Hays; sisters, Josie Graphos (Pete) and Liz Hays Easter (Mark); nephews, Peter Graphos (Staci) and Forrest Houston (Leslie); great nephew, James Graphos; cousin, Laura Hale Robertson (Brian) and by her very best friend from 2nd grade, Gail Eldridge. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Ridout's Valley Chapel. The Funeral Service will be on Thursday, November 16, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Independent Presbyterian Church with burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Dr. Larson, Dr. Dumas, Dr. Tincher and the 7th floor Oncology Unit at Brookwood Hospital for their support and guidance. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Alabama Foundation for Oncology, P. O. Box 660833, Birmingham, AL 35209. Ridout's Valley Chapel directing.

What an awesome individual. The twelve years I worked with Judy will always be remembered.

Judy was a thorough professional and a kind hearted soul.
