Allen Kroh, 49, Plainfield, Ind., formerly of Bismarck, died Aug. 7, 2004, at Plainfield. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday Aug. 12, 2004, at Bismarck Evangelical Church, 14th Street and Avenue F., with the Rev. John Luhmann officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Visitations will be held from noon to 9 p.m. today at Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck, where a a prayer service will begin at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church.
The son of Wilbert and Margie (Lennick) Kroh, Allen was born Oct. 19, 1954, at Mandan. He was raised and educated in Bismarck and graduated from Bismarck High School in 1972. Following graduation, he worked at Kirkwood Motor Inn, where he worked as the night auditor and front desk manager. This is where he met his future wife, Sherry Keller, whom he married March 22, 1975, in Bismarck.
Allen became an auctioneer in 1975, and worked with his father at Kroh's Auction Service. In 1978, Allen started driving truck with Midwest Motor Express. Later he worked for Consolidated Freightways, transferring to Indiana in 1994. In 2002, he worked as a driver for Roadway. In 1993, he won the North Dakota Trucking Association, Flatbed Division, and represented North Dakota nationally that year.
Allen was a soft spoken man devoted to his family. He truly enjoyed having coffee with his trucking buddies, hunting, fishing, bowling and his dog, Marley. Allen loved to sing gospel music. He enjoyed watching his kids play sports and had a special love for his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry, Plainfield; two daughters, Kami Kroh and her special friend, Patrick Biggerstaff, Plainfield, and LeAnn Kroh, Indianapolis; two sons, Jason Keller Kroh, and special friend, Raegan Whited, Overton, Nev., and Justin Kroh and special friend, Abby Miller, Plainfield; five grandchildren, Sidney, Destynee, Kasandra, Austin and Rainey; his mother, Margie, Bismarck; five brothers and three sisters-in-law, Roger and Cheryl and Jeffrey and Stephanie, all of Bismarck, Joel, Mandan, Jason and Sharisse, Omaha, Neb., and Stanley, Bismarck.
Allen was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father; and one brother, Kelly.
