Alvin Kleinsasser

Alvin R. Kleinsasser, 79, Bismarck, died Aug. 25, 2010, in a Bismarck care center. Family will be receiving friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Bismarck Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Alvin was born Aug. 16, 1931, in Fessenden, to Jacob and Emma (Fast) Kleinsasser. He grew up on the family farm and attended school in Garrison.

On July 31, 1952, he married Dorothy Ritchey. Alvin served in the military from December 1952 to May 1954 in Korea. He worked as a mechanic for JC Penney for many years and also drove truck for Allied Van Lines. He worked as a custodian for the North Dakota National Guard for 15 years before his retirement.

Alvin enjoyed playing guitar and singing country western songs. He also enjoyed motorcycles, bowling, waterskiing and fishing. Alvin spent many happy summers at the lake cabin with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; one daughter, Kathleen (Gary) Reinhardt; two sons; Terry and Kenneth (Shelley), all of Bismarck; six grandchildren, Reed and Trish Reinhardt, and Jesse, Kris, Chantel and Michael Kleinsasser; two great grandchildren, Justin and Kelsey.

Alvin spent the last six months of his life at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center and we would like to thank them and St. Alexius Hospice for their wonderful care.
