Amanda M. Thiel

WASHBURN -- Amanda M. Thiel, 14, Washburn, died April 30, 1999, as a passenger in a two-car collision near Washburn. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at First Lutheran Church, Washburn, with the Rev. Bradley Brauer officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Washburn.

Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Monday at Goetz Funeral Home, Washburn, and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, at the church.

Pallbearers for the service will be Gerald Hoff, Dan Leingang, Larry Taylor and Donald Wolf. Honorary pallbearers are all of Amanda's classmates.

Amanda Marie Thiel was born on July 31, 1984 at Bismarck, to Gary W. and Cindy A. (Murray) Thiel. She grew up in Washburn, where she attended school and was currently completing the ninth grade. She played bass clarinet in the Washburn High School Band, participated in track and cross country and was a basketball statistician. She loved horses and was a collector of Breyer Models.

She is survived by her parents, Gary and Cindy Thiel, Washburn; her sister, Angel Thiel, Washburn; her grandparents, Russel and Deloris Thiel, Fargo; her great-grandmother, Clara Thiel, Bemidji, Minn.; her godparents, David and Linda Thiel, Brainerd, Minn.; her special friend, Donnie McClintic, Hazen; and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ervin and Ruby Murray. (Goetz Funeral Home, Washburn)
