Barbara Ormiston Obituary

Barbara Florence Ormiston, 94, Mandan, passed away Oct. 5, 2015, at Sanford Health, Bismarck. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, at DaWise-Perry Funeral Services, Mandan, with the Rev. Dale Nabben officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, New Salem.

Visitation is scheduled for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Barbara was born June 26, 1921, at Glen Ullin, to Michael and Barbara (Eichhof) Kronberger, and received her educated in Morton County. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith.

On Nov. 2, 1939, she married George Ormiston in Glendive. Barbara worked for the American Cancer Society for 12 years, and the American Heart Association for two years. She was a life member of the Cowboy Hall of Fame. Barbara was known by many for her cooking, canning and baking on the ranch. She also enjoyed crocheting and embroidering. Her motto was to work hard and share with others.

She is survived by one brother, John Kronberger; two grandsons, George and Russ Ormiston, both of Bismarck; four great-grandchildren, Colton, Justin, Hoyt and Elin; her daughter-in-law, Linda Ormiston; and many nieces and nephews.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George; her son, George G.; four brothers; six sisters; one niece, Bonnie Jean Becker; one nephew, Randall Gullickson; and one cousin, Mike Aberle.
