Curtis Colin Nutz
Curtis Colin Nutz, 82, passed away peacefully into the loving arms of God at Hospice of the Valley in Gilbert, Arizona, on August 22, 2021. He struggled with Lewy Body Dementia for the last 5 years of his life. Curtis was born December 19, 1938 in Harvey, N.D. to Edwin and Ida Nutz. He joined the U.S. Army in 1963 and was honorably discharged in 1965. Curtis married Karen Strecker on August 10, 1969. Melissa Ann Nutz born to them in 1973. He worked for the North Dakota Department of Transportation for 25 years until his retirement in December of 2000. Curtis and Karen moved to Queen Creek, Ariz. in October 2005. Their only grandson Jack Curtis Karlovic was born in 2006. Jack was Curtis' little buddy with whom he loved to hang out.
Curtis is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Ida Nutz. He is survived by his wife, Karen; daughter, Melissa; grandson, Jack (Queen Creek, Ariz.); sister, Marge Sogn (Tucson, Ariz.); and brother, Sheldon (Seattle, Wash.). A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on August 31, 2021 at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery, 7900 E Main Street, Mesa, AZ 85207.
