Dean Bertsch Obituary

Dean Bertsch, 61, Bismarck, passed away on Jan. 13, 2020, at CHI St. Alexius Hospital, Bismarck. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck.

Burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck.

Dean was born on Oct. 1, 1958, in Bismarck to Walter and Emma (Weible) Bertsch. He grew up and attended school in Bismarck. Dean worked for Bertsch Construction and was instrumental in building the Riverdale High Lodge. He also worked on various U.S. Post Office projects in Coco Beach and Mims, Fla., and Kauai, Hawaii, as well as various building projects all around N.D. He liked to invent and develop different tools to help make his work easier.

He was a generous and good-hearted man who would help anyone in need. He will be deeply missed.

Dean is survived by his siblings, Al, Bismarck; Vernon (Anita), Bismarck; Elaine (Jon) Wagner, Lincoln; and Leland (Jane), Riverdale; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marlene (Joe) Wetzel; and sister-in-law, Marlys Bertsch.
