Edna Davis Obituary

Edna Davis

Edna A. Davis, 84, Bismarck, passed away Feb. 5, 2009, at St. Alexius Medical Center. A private family viewing was held. Per the family request, no services will be scheduled.

Edna was born June 6, 1924, to Kearney and Anna (Haugen) Brunberg in Hayward, Wis. After high school, she worked locally until marrying John Davis on Oct. 18, 1947. They moved to Minneapolis so John could pursue his master's degree.

Edna, John and their first son, Stuart, moved back to Hayward in 1952. They and their three children moved from Wisconsin to the Dakotas in 1963. John's job kept them moving around the U.S., until he retired in Albuquerque, N.M., in 1982. They then moved to Bismarck to be closer to their family. John passed away in 1994, and Edna continued to live in her own home until moving to Valley View Assisted Living, in March 2008.

She is survived by her three children, Stuart (Corinne), Scott and Jan Gilmour (Jon Wilczek); seven grandchildren, Sheri (Dana) Eckart, Brad (Melissa), DeeAnn and Grant Davis, Colin, Brendan and Zane Gilmour, three great-grandchildren, Ellie and Landon Eckart and Malachi, and one on the way.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; her brothers, Elmer and George; and her sister, Doris.
