Emelia Hettich

Emelia Hettich, 91, Bismarck, died Nov. 20, 2005, in a local care center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Nov. 23, at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center Chapel, Bismarck, with the Rev. Dale Nabben officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Garden.

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

Emelia was born Jan. 4, 1914, in Dunn County, the daughter of Gottlieb and Katheryn (Ackerman) Klatt. She was raised northwest of Dunn Center, on her father's homestead and attended country school. She married Karl Hettich in February 1934. They farmed and raised cattle on a farm at Regan. They retired in 1969, and moved to Bismarck. Karl died in 1988.

Emelia enjoyed her garden and canning the produce she raised. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Regan and a homemaker's club.

Emelia is survived by her four children, Mona Hettich, Minneapolis, Minn., Esther (Adam) Kratz, Mandan, Clarence (Rose) Hettich, Hazelton, and Curt Hettich, Regan; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and one brother, Henry (Hilda) Klatt, Killdeer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Karl; three brothers, Gotthilf, John and Jake Klatt; and three sisters, Bertha Strobel, Olga Hoff and Hilda Goetz.
