Gregory Allen Krogh, 61, Mandan, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2017, at his residence. The family is planning a Celebration of Life on July 22, 2017.
Greg was born Oct. 28, 1955, at Fergus Falls, Minn., to Nels and Darlene (Nauschutz) Krogh.
Growing up, Greg was the light of his mother's life, even in the times that she wanted to spank him, pull her hair out or just hug him to pieces. He attempted to teach his sisters the life of a guy, buying cars that embarrassed his older sister, and teaching the others how to bait a hook and not freak out over actually catching a fish and having to remove it from that same hook … eek!!! He spent hours with his niece Jill, who adored him, teaching her woodworking and the appreciation of great music.
Nothing pleased Greg more than a day in his boat fishing at the mouth of the Heart River. Solitude and nature soothed his soul. When Greg wasn't fishing, he devoured the world of books, music, and movies. They filled his life with knowledge, wonder and entertainment. Greg was a master with a piece of wood and saw and was instrumental in helping his sister with the treasures that were sold at Junk Yard Chic. Traveling and heading to the mountains for peace was a must in his life and he took the time for this when possible. He also was a very proud member of the NRA and spent hours tinkering with his guns and shotgun shells.
It is said in life that you find your TRIBE and you love them HARD. To those of you that touched his heart know that in his own quiet way he loved you and he LOVED YOU HARD. Take time to hear his whispers in the breeze as it touches your face. His laughter in the sound of a mountain stream as it rushes to endless places, his quirky smile in the beauty of a sunrise and sunset and his joy in the song of a bird.
Those of us that loved him and LOVED him hard will miss our time with him here on earth; however he has left a handprint on our hearts for always and forever.
He is survived by his mother, Darlene; three sisters, Velma (Mark) Baisch, Washburn, Ann Andre, Bismarck, and Karen (Dan) Williams, Lakewood, Colo.
Greg was preceded in death by his father; and brother Jeffrey.
In lieu of flowers the family would like donations made to Humane Society and the United Way Back Pack Program.
Please sign his guestbook and share memories at www.dawiseperry.com. Arrangements are being made with DaWise-Perry Funeral Services, Mandan.
