As a former student and athlete at Lakota High School Hans was very special to me. He took me under his "wing" as a young person and helped mold me into a better person and what he called his special guard on the basketball team. We were very disappointed when he left Lakota.

We miss seeing Hans and Elida at he Annual Turkey Barbecue in Lakota.

Your father was a prince among mentors, teachers, and role models. He was respected by all of his students. We will miss his presence at our 50th class reunion. He always cared enough to come and see us at that time.

Your father often waved to us or said hello on
his way to or from school in his years of
teaching. Your mother was in my book club.
Such lovely people to remember. Our
sympathies go out to you.

Mr. Grunseth was my supervising teacher at Mandan High School in 1965. I still recall his kind words of wisdom and his gentle manor. I was the lucky one to practice teach in his class. In my years of teaching I thought of him often and still remember him well.

Have faith in these trying times.

John,
I enjoyed being in a bookkeeping class that your father taught while I was in high school. I remember it was one of my favorite classes that year. He was also a sponsor for the Student Council the year I was a class representative. Your father was a kind man and a good teacher. My mother, Christine, and I send our sympathies to you and Twila. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Joyce Meidinger
