Isidor Miller, son of Egidius and Nathalia (Volk) Miller, was born Oct. 25, 1906, in Strasburg. On Nov. 25, 1931, he was joined in marriage with Gertrude Nagel, and the two lived and farmed in the Raleigh area. Isidor was a true farmer at heart and found great enjoyment in what he did. After retiring from farming, he worked for Mor Gran Sou until he was 95 years old.

Isidor had a wonderful sense of humor and was a friend to everyone. He had a sharp memory and could easily recall family history. Isidor was very self-dependent. He taught himself to read at an early age with only three years of formal education. Photography was a large part of his life and he enjoyed developing his own photographs. He also made time for other hobbies, such as fishing, gardening, rodeos and planting trees. While Isidor had many interests in life, his family was always the most important.

Isidor will always be missed by his four daughters and three sons-in-law, Lorraine Brotsky, Eagle Butte, S.D., Delores (Duane) Johnson, Almont, Bette (Dale) Johnson, Hazen, and Darlene (Ed) Williams, Baker, Mont.; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Ralph (Crystal), Flasher, Vernon, Bismarck, and Don (Janice) and Oscar (Rachel), both of Raleigh; one sister and brother-in-law, Agnes Lonning, Rolla, Mo., and Baldwin Gross, Glen Ullin; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Mike Miller, Raleigh, and Anna Miller and Margaret Miller, both of Bismarck; 29 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Isidor was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude, who died in 1980; his parents; one son-in-law, Jerry Brotsky; one sister, Rufina Gross; three brothers, Peter, Adolph and Gabe; one brother-in-law, T.N. Lonning; and two sisters-in-law, Theresa Miller and Philomena Miller
