Jacob Schneider Obituary
Jacob "Jack" Schneider, 64, Selfridge, died March 29, 1999, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be 9:30 a.m. MST Thursday at St. Philomena Catholic Church, Selfridge, with the Rev. Casimir Paluck officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. MST Thursday at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan, with full military rites provided by Mandan Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 707 and the American Legion Post No. 40.
Visitation begins today from noon to 9 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with a prayer service at 8 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Thursday for a half-hour prior to the service.
Jack Schneider was born Nov. 27, 1934, to Jacob and Angeline (Mosset) Schneider in Flasher. He was raised and educated in the Selfridge area. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 until 1960 and on April 28, 1958, he married Janice McGregor in Selfridge.
Jack worked for Cenex for the past 33 years, where he installed furnaces and drove propane trucks. His hobbies included hunting and fishing and he also enjoyed his hide and fur business.
He was a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Janice, Selfridge; two daughters and one son-in-law, Monica Schneider and Shelly and Dale Hepper, all of Selfridge; three sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Charlene, Jacksonville, S.C., Mickey and Lisa, Lincoln, and Martin and Judy, Buffalo, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; his mother, Angeline, Mandan; six sisters and five brothers-in-law, Helen and Steve Walter, Canon City, Calif., Frances and Paul Hall, Atlanta, Rose Huber, Pine Bluff, Ark., Regina and Edward Block, and Theresa and Gene Glines, all of McIntosh, S.D. and Leona and Harvey Campbell, Mobridge, S.D.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jacob; and one sister, Josephine. (Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan)
