Joel Jundt

Joel Vernon Jundt, 78, Mandan, passed away April 24, 2018, in Mandan. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at DaWise-Perry Funeral Services, Mandan, with The Rev. Thomas Marcis officiating. Friends and family will gather one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery. There will be no visitation, as cremation has taken place.

Joel was born Jan. 19, 1940, in Hazelton, to Henry and Adeline (Stern) Jundt. He was raised and educated in Bismarck. He graduated from Bismarck High School. He served in the U.S. Army and then worked many years at YCC and Sharks Men Store. Joel had a special place in his heart for animals and would walk his dogs all the time.

He is survived by two daughters, Dorinna Jundt, Bismarck, and Andrea (Darrell) Scott, Grand Forks; a son, Mark Jundt, Grand Forks; two sisters, Diana (Thomas) Woehl, Wishek, and Joyce (Harry) Bender, Bismarck; a brother, Clarence Jundt, Bismarck; a granddaughter, Lori Jundt; and numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.

Joel was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Schwan); his parents; and his brother, Virgil Jundt.
