SIMS -- Josh Ray Olin, 22, Sims, died Nov. 6, 1999 in a Dickinson hospital of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Services will be held at 1 p.m. MST Wednesday, at Almont Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Van Vechten Crane officiating. Burial will be in Sims Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon-8 p.m. MST Tuesday, at Sims Lutheran Church, where a prayer service will begin at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour before services at the church in Almont.
Josh was born on Jan. 29, 1977 in Bismarck, the son of Ray and Carole (Ottmar) Olin. Josh attended school in New Salem, graduating from New Salem High School in 1995. He attended Bismarck State College for two years, where he received a degree in Agri-sales in 1997. He served as president of the Board of Governors while a student there. He worked in sales for Rolin Manufacturing and one the family farm with his dad. Because he enjoyed discussing all aspects of farming and the farm economy, he had a natural talent for starting a conversation while representing Rolin Mfg. at the farm shows. Time spent outdoors and with his friends and family was a special joy to him.
Loved by all who knew him, he will be missed by many, including his parents, Ray and Carole, New Salem; his brother, Toby and his friend, Kim McCullough, New Salem; his brother and sister-in-law, Shawn and Vicki Jacobs, Bismarck; his grandmothers, Delia Olin and Julia Ottmar, both of New Salem; his nieces, Lisa and Janet Stanton; his aunts and uncles, Harold and Gaynel Nesheim, Myron and Donna Ottmar, Dale and Marlene Ottmar, Jack and Velma Olin, LoAnn Olin; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Art Olin and Reiny Ottmar; and his uncle, Keith Olin. (Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan)
