Kyle J. "Freddie" Keller, 22, Bismarck, formerly of Harvey, died March 16, 2014, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident near Grenora. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 21, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey. Burial will be at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Velva.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, where prayer services will begin at 8 p.m.
Kyle was born April 17, 1991, at Minot. He was the son of Pius and Cindy (Heisler) Keller. He grew up in Harvey. He worked at the Dakota Prairie Organic Flour Company in Harvey. His school activities included being in the choir and playing the trumpet. His family thoroughly enjoyed him being part of the musical, "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" his senior year. He was a member of FCCLA and attended national competition on the Parliamentary Procedure Team in Orlando. He was the scorekeeper for varsity basketball games played in Harvey. He was also a member of FFA and SADD. He was a passionate golfer and was on the high school golf team, which qualified for state his senior year. He graduated from Harvey High School in 2009.
Kyle went on to Bismarck State College, where he received associate degrees in power plant technology and electronics technician in 2013. While attending college in Bismarck, Kyle worked at Best Buy as an electronic installer. At the time of his death, he was employed by Sanjel as an electrical technician and was working in the Williston area.
Kyle had a special niche for installing and removing anything electronic and enjoyed helping all of his family and friends hyping up their electronic items in their cars.
Kyle was a member of the St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Harvey. His passion for living and avoidance of controversy was endeared by family and friends. He was a movie buff and enjoyed attending We Fest in Detroit Lakes. He also continued to excel at golf, fished occasionally and was able to enjoy last years spring break in Mexico. He was to have gone to Arizona on spring break this week, with many of his friends. Kyle's family and friends are going to miss all of his great big bear hugs and his great big infectious smile that he shared with everyone.
Kyle is survived by his parents, Pius and Cindy, Harvey; his sisters, Angela (Steven) Olson, Wahoo, Neb., Kari (Grant) Geerdes, Bismarck, and Kayla (Kurt) Hammargren, Bismarck; his brother, Craig (Janell) Keller, Bismarck; his nieces and nephews, Rochelle, Carleigh and Braedenn Olson, Addysen, Olyvia and Trysdan Geerdes, Ashley, Issac, Ryleigh and Annaley Keller and Kellan Hammargren; paternal grandfather, Arthur Heisler, Velva; and his aunts and uncles, Lowell and Beth Hankel, Tacoma, Wash., Kathy and Wayne Schatz, Butte, Sandy and Denis Rosendahl, Bismarck, Kevin and Val Heisler, Velva, Keith and Amy Heisler, Velva, Michael and Alexia Heisler, Velva, Regina and Marvin Kossan, Minot, Delores Zale, Minot, Dan and Irene Keller, Minot, Ray Keller, Minot, and Paul Keller, Bismarck. Kyle is also survived by many cousins and close friends.
Kyle was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fern Heisler and Albert and Theresa Keller; two cousins, Dustin Schatz and John Zale Jr.; one aunt, Linda Hankel; and one uncle, John Zale Sr.
