Lambert Dressler

Lambert Dressler, 95, Bismarck, died Sept. 25, 2012, at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck. Mass of Christian burial will be held at noon Friday, Sept. 28, at Church of St. Mary, Bismarck, with the Revs. Shane Campbell and Gene Lindemann officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.

Visitation will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a rosary/vigil will begin at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Lambert was born March 18, 1917, the eldest child of John and Matilda (Kopp) Dressler in Raleigh. He grew up and attended school in Raleigh. Lambert married Aurora Volk on Sept. 26, 1939, at St. Gertrude's Church, Raleigh. Together, they had 12 children, six boys and six girls. Lambert worked various jobs in the Raleigh area, before beginning his electrical career in 1949. In 1950, Lambert started working for Mor-Gran-Sou Electric Coop, where he worked for 28 years, while also operating his own business, Dressler Electric. Lambert worked very hard to provide for his family.

He loved to fish in his retirement years, as well as work on his beautiful Christmas light display. Their house in Flasher was decorated from top to bottom for everyone to enjoy for the holiday season. Lambert was known for his great sense of humor, always joking, laughing and kidding around. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. He touched many people's lives both young and old.

Lambert is survived by his wife of 73 years, Aurora, Bismarck; his 12 children, Darlene (Vernon) Erickson, Elgin, Harlan (Mildred) Dressler, Rapid City, S.D., Ronald (Lorraine) Dressler, Bismarck, Lois (Bryan) Vandenburg, Flasher, Larry (Joyce) Dressler, Tyler, Texas, Charlene (Jim) Scheetz, Bismarck, Diane (Richard) Friesz, Bismarck, Carol (Mark) Sinclair, Chaska, Minn., Jim (Sandy) Dressler, Las Vegas, Nev., Ed (Cheryl) Dressler, Bismarck, Brenda (Dave) Meyer, Flasher, and Rick (Val) Dressler, Bismarck; 35 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Louie, Al and Butch.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Shane Dressler; his sisters, Peggy Leintz and Rose Friesz; and his brother, Ralph Dressler.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you and will be forever grateful for the wonderful care that the Primrose Staff have provided for Lambert and Aurora.
