LeRoy Scherr Obituary
November 18, 1944 - June 17, 2025
LeRoy Scherr, age 80, of Otsego, MN passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale. He was born on November 18, 1944, in Braddock, North Dakota, the son of Michael and Helen (Ternes) Scherr. LeRoy honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. On September 27, 1969, LeRoy Scherr and Patricia D. Kuss were united in holy marriage in Kintyre, North Dakota. God blessed their union with three children. After their marriage, LeRoy and Patricia moved to Minneapolis, where LeRoy began his career at Tool Products, where he worked faithfully for 48 years before retiring. After retirement, he began working at Bondhus Corporation, where he truly loved going to work. LeRoy enjoyed watching football, spending time at the cabin, pontooning, watching Westerns with Patricia, telling stories, and having a cold beer. Above all, he cherished his time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was a devoted member of St. Albert Catholic Church in Albertville, MN.
Survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Patricia D. Scherr; three children: Dave (Chris) Scherr, Denise (Dallas) Boullion, and John Scherr; eight grandchildren: Joshua, Megan, Riley, Isabella, Lauren, Ashlyn, Taylor, and Keaton; three great-grandchildren: Teagan, Kinsley, and Rowan; Eleven siblings; other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Isabel; his father- and mother-in-law, Michael and Zita Kuss; and a brother-in-law, Mike Kuss.
Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, June 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. at The Peterson Chapel - St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home. Further visitation will be held on Saturday morning, June 21, one hour prior to Mass at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial for LeRoy Scherr will be held on Saturday, June 21, at 11 a.m. at St. Albert Catholic Church in Albertville. Interment will follow at St. Albert Cemetery, Albertville.
Casket bearers will be his brothers: Clarence Scherr, Mike Scherr, Steve Scherr, and Joe Scherr.
The Peterson Chapel - St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home in St. Michael, MN is serving the family.
