Louise H. Shepherd, 84, Mesquite, Nev., formerly of Wilton, died March 23, 2004, at a Mesquite care center. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 27, at Sunne Lutheran Church, Wilton, with the Rev. Paul Schauer officiating. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery, Wilton.
Visitation will be held two hours prior to service at the church on Saturday.
Louise was born Sept. 11, 1919, the daughter of Gunder and Alma Hagen. She was raised in Painted Woods Township and attended some schooling. On April 11, 1941, Louise married Lloyd Hill Shepherd in Wibaux, Mont. To this union eight sons and four daughters were born. Louise worked many different jobs, including pastry chef in Bismarck. She was cook at the Regan School, and in 1968 they opened a restaurant Wilton that they ran for several years. Louise lived in Wilton until she moved due to medical reasons to Nevada. She entered The Highland Manor in 2000.
She is survived by her six sons and four daughter-in-laws, Arthur and Margaret, Penngrove, Calif., Robert and Mary, McDonough, Ga., Roger and Kayla, North Platte, Neb., Daniel, Rapid City, S.D., Paul, Grand Forks, and Alan and Beth, Cheyenne, Wyo.; four daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and John Haluzak, Caliente, Nev., Irene and Elmer Jaton, Bismarck, Lindona and Terry Brendel, Bismarck, and Tamara and Keith Manchester, Moreno Valley, Calif.; one brother, Martin and his wife, Donna Hagen, Wilton; one sister, Norma Thompson, Wheaton, Ill.; 37 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; one daughter, Myrtle Louise; two sons, William and Richard; her parents; one sister, Tiny; and two brother-in-laws, Willard and Lyle. (Bismarck Funeral Home)
