Lucille Schmaltz

Lucille Schmaltz

Lucille Raye Schmaltz was born Dec. 11, 2020, in Palmer, Alaska, and awoke from her nap in the loving arms of the Lord on Wednesday, March 3, 2021.

She is the daughter of William and Danielle Schmaltz and little sister to her proud big brother Elias.

Lucy's funeral was held 3 p.m. Alaska Standard Time on Wednesday, March 10 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wasilla, Alaska, with Father Joseph Mc Gilloway officiating. The Mass was livestreamed on the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Facebook page. She will have a peaceful, temporary resting place at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery until her final resting place with her mother.

Lucy especially loved the overwhelming attention of her brother, to smile at her daddy, and calming snuggles with her mother.

Also blessed to have loved her are her grandparents, Brian and Mary Schmaltz, Linton and Marvin and Deb Ray, Omaha, Neb.; aunts and uncles, Jared (Brittany) Ray, Briana (Blake) Olson, Beau (Victoria) Schmaltz, and James Schmaltz; great-grandparents, Ella Kalberer, Bismarck, and Butch and Sharon Ellis, Massena, Iowa, and especially loved by her cousins, Lillian, Hazel and Willow Olson, Nolan and Mason Schmaltz, and Slader and Camille Ray.

Lucy is being loved in heaven by her great-grandparents, Melvin and Helen Schmaltz, Joseph Kalberer, and Glenn and Joan Weirich; great-uncle, Wayne Kalberer, and infant great-uncle, Steven Kalberer.

Right now, the mention of Lucy's name may bring tears to our eyes and pain to our hearts, but it is also music to our ears. Please continue to talk about our sweet Lucy Girl and let us hear the music of her name. It sings to our broken hearts and will help to heal our souls.

Most people only dream of angels; we held one in our arms. We love you forever our sweet Lucy Girl.
