Marjorie A. Frederick, 77, Mandan, passed away Aug. 1, 2018, at Miller Pointe, Mandan. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Cremation has taken place, there will be no visitation.
Marjorie Ann Rants was born on March 6, 1941, in Bismarck, the daughter of Everett and Agnes (Selhan) Rants. She attended school in Wilton and Bismarck, where she graduated in the first graduating class of Bismarck High School.
On May 27, 1961, she married James Frederick in Vista, Calif., and they shared 55 loving years of marriage together. Marge worked a number of jobs including 4L's Tarp Company, George's Bakery, Elk Lodge, and Main Street Diner in Mandan. She loved to cook and socialize with her co-workers and friends she made throughout her working career.
Marge enjoyed sewing, quilting, and crocheting, where she made many things for her family and friends. In her earlier years, she enjoyed camping and fishing trips, as well as picnics in the park with her family. Marge loved spending her afternoons having coffee at the Dakota Farms in Mandan with the many friends she made there and would especially enjoy it when she was able to bring her grandkids along. She was known for always having treats and hugs for her grandkids and most of all, lots of love. Marge will be forever missed for her sense of humor, contagious smile, and unconditional love she had for all of her family and friends.
Marge is survived by her sons, Dwayne (Karre) Frederick, Douglas and Kenyon; her daughters, Brenda (Russ) Burley and Toni (Justin) Hohbein; a special daughter-in-law, Vivian Frederick; her grandchildren, Darren (Brooke) Frederick, Amber Frederick (Tony Nelson), Amanda (Jared) Bichler, Ashley Frederick (Matthew Bahm), Dylan (Trish) Frederick, Skylor and Alex Otto, Jon (Ashley) Burley, Amber (Aaron) Colby, Taylor Kitzan (Jake Fladeland), Zack Burley, Kaitlyn and Kaycie Hohbein, and Austin Frederick; her great-grandchildren, Jayden and Landyn Papka, Aysia and Kiara Frederick, Hailey Bruce, Jameson Bichler, and Spencer Frederick; her siblings, Harold (Gloria) Rants, Kenny (Eunice) Rants, and Marlys Schlichenmayer; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Frederick; very special niece, Barb Rants; brother-in-law, Darold Schlichenmayer; daughter-in law, Becky Fowler; and many beloved family and friends.
