Mary Malsam
DRISCOLL - Mary Malsam, 91, resided many years on the farm near Driscoll, ND, passed away April 8, 2024 at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM, Saturday, April 13, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck.
Mary was born June 8, 1932 to Otto and Lydia (Cady) Riederer. She married Joe Malsam on June 8, 1953 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Driscoll. Joe and Mary bought the farm from his parents and raised cattle, sheep, hogs and chickens. They grew a huge garden for many years. After selling the farm, they moved to Steele. Later they would move to Valley View Heights and eventually to Missouri Slope Nursing Home.
Family was everything to Mary and she will be missed deeply by her four children, Richard (Elaine Kurtz) Malsam, Doug (JoAnn Reichenberg) Malsam, Sandra (Scot Berg) Malsam and Ralph (Zandra Albrecht) Malsam; nine grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her son, David who passed away at birth; her parents; and her husband, Joe; brothers, Florian, Jerome; sister, Bernice and Harold Raymond, who was treated as a brother and family member.
