Muriel Schilling
BISMARCK - Muriel Schilling went to her heavenly home on July 15, 2023.
Funeral services will be held at McCabe United Methodist Church on August 7, 2023 beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Muriel Betty (Bettenhausen) Schilling, was the 10th child in a family of 17 of Oliver Sr. and Emma (Kramer) Bettenhausen. She was born on March 17, 1931 on a family farm 11 miles Southwest of Wishek, ND. She completed her elementary education at a rural school near their farm. She attended high school for 2 years and later received her GED degree from the Wishek High School. Prior to receiving her high school degree, she was a teacher at rural schools for several years.
On June 8, 1948, she married Marvin Schilling at the First Baptist Church in Wishek, ND. In 1950, they bought a farm 17 miles south of Wishek, ND. In 1962, they sold the farm and operated various businesses in Wishek, ND. Besides assisting Marvin with his business interests, Muriel was employed with the Super Value Stores for some 18 years.
Marvin and Muriel moved to Bismarck, ND in 1986. Marvin was employed with auto dealerships and Muriel was employed with the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center for 8 years.
Muriel was a member at McCabe United Methodist Church with special work with the Esther Circle and Tuesday Workshop.
Survivor's include one son, Llewellyn, North Hills, CA; son-in-law, Dennis Huebsch; granddaughter Melissa (Brady) Haugo; grandson Brady (Marissa) Huebsch; great granddaughter Summer Haugo; sisters, Gladys Zimmerman and Ella Burr; brothers: Larry, Oliver Jr., Neil and Richard.
Muriel was preceded in death by her loving husband Marvin, her precious daughter Roanne, and brothers Howard, Warren, Edgar, Charles, sisters Peral Wahl, Corinne Albrecht, LaVera Ottmar, Mabel Larson, Blanche Wetzel and Shirley Kaseman.
