Robert Obediah Baird passed away on Oct. 29, 2016, at the age of 73 in a Bismarck hospital.
Bobby was born Aug. 16, 1943, in New Mexico, to June Dickinson and was raised in Bismarck by his grandparents, Robert and Mary Baird, who adopted him. In his adult years, Bobby lived in various areas of the country such as South Dakota, Kansas, Texas, Arizona and North Dakota. In recent years, he lived in Grand Forks, but recently returned to Bismarck-Mandan.
He was married to Carol Seidel, and to this union his only child, Brian, was born. He later also married Cary Heisler.
Bobby was extremely proud of his years spent as an over-the-road trucker and had many good stories he was happy to share. He also enjoyed his years working as a computer tech. His pride and joy, however, was playing drums for his band, Obediah, that performed for many years throughout the Midwest. The band used to have a half hour TV show on KFYR.
He is survived by his son, Brian (Denise) Sather; Brian's children, Dean (Nikkie) and Jennifer; as well as the many friends he made in his travels. (Bismarck Funeral Home)
