GARRISON - Robert W. "Bum" Iglehart, 76, Garrison, died Nov. 25, 2011, at a Garrison hospital. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Garrison. Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at the church.
Robert was born on Feb. 1, 1935, in rural Garrison, to Wilbert and Eleanor (Retterath) Iglehart. He was educated through the eighth-grade at Hackett Country School No. 1 in rural Garrison. He then attended Garrison High School, where he graduated, in 1952. Following high school he attended one year at Minot State College before entering the U.S. Navy on March 17, 1954. He was honorably discharged on March 13, 1958. Following his discharge from the Navy, Robert began his 40 plus years of farming. He started on the family homestead west of Garrison in 1960 and retired in 2003.
During his retirement, Robert found time for his hobbies which included old cars, and more importantly, spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Robert is survived by two daughters, Tammy (Todd) Schwary, Los Angeles, Calif., and Becky Iglehart, Vail, Colo.; his son, Robert (Ann) Iglehart, Coralville, Iowa; his grandchildren, Matthew, Levi, Shanna, Ellie and Lily Iglehart; his brothers, Donald (Donna) Iglehart, and Bill (Sandy) Iglehart, all of Garrison; his sisters, Rozann Ford, Gulf Port, Miss., and Mary Jo (Ric) Blanchard, Minnetonka, Minn.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
