Sandra Marlene "Sandy" Brewster
July 16, 1951 - October 18, 2025
Sandra Marlene "Sandy" Brewster, 74, of Bismarck, N.D., passed away peacefully at Lilac Homes Assisted Living Center in Moorhead, Minn. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Mercer, with Pastor Sam Trottier officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Mercer.
Sandy was born on July 16, 1951, to Bob and Mar Morgan, in Marshalltown, Iowa. They had moved to Minot, N.D. and then to Bismarck, N.D., where she graduated from Bismarck High. Sandy received her teaching certificate from UND and later received her master's from University of Mary. On August 1, 1975, she married Randy Brewster and together they raised their two children, Allison and John. Sandy taught kindergarten at multiple different schools before becoming a math and reading tutor. Shortly thereafter, she began working at Herberger's for many years.
In 2020, Sandy moved to Fargo, N.D., and was sadly diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. Her family dutifully took care of her, taking her to Memory Café support groups, putting together puzzles and crafts, having family suppers, and many road trip adventures. She loved to shop, always looking for new toys or fun outfits for her grandchildren. She also attended Book Club with her mom for a few years.
Sandy is survived by her daughter, Allison Cudney; son, John (Sara) Brewster; grandchildren, Michael (Ashlyn Buss) Cudney, Breanne (Alexander Johnson) Cudney, Alexsandra Cudney, Kady Brewster, and Violet Brewster; great-granddaughters, Eleanor and Isla Cudney; sister, Debra (David) Bentz; brother, Jim (Jane) Morgan; brother-in-law, Les (Marlys) Brewster; sisters-in-law, Karen Just and Judy (Gordon) Westerlind; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Randy; parents, Bob and Mar Morgan; father- and mother-in-law, Howard and Vivian Brewster; and brothers-in-law, Tom Brewster and Myron Just.
