Stella M. Jundt, 93, joined her Lord in Heaven on April 30, 2010, at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck, with her two daughters and one granddaughter at her side. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today, May 4, at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center in the Chapel with the Revs. Ed Wehner and Dale Nabben officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services. Fellowship will follow the service in the dining room. Burial will be immediately after at St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck.
Scholastica "Stella" M. Matz was born Nov. 15, 1916, in Mandan. She was one of 11 children born to Louis and Elizabeth Matz. On June 22, 1937, she was married to Adam F. Jundt in Mandan. They were married for 62 years before Adam died in 1999. She raised four children in Bismarck. She kept house, baking and cooking for her family, as well as being a housekeeper at St. Alexius Medical Center until her retirement.
Throughout her life, she was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was a long-time active member of St. Mary's Altar Society, including holding all of the offices at one time or another. She frequently volunteered her time to bake and serve at the parish's many funerals. After she and Adam retired, they traveled to visit family and friends. They liked to travel by bus in order to enjoy each other's company and more of the sights along the way.
Stella enjoyed gardening, baking, reading and sewing, but most of all spending time with her family. She was deeply devoted to her husband. Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren were the light of her life.
Stella was a very kind and caring person, who will be greatly, missed by her daughters, sons and families: Mary Pat Fogel and her children, Jennifer Fogel, Stefanie Fogel and great-granddaughter, Ariella Fogel; Carol Ann Tedore and her children, Roy (Amy) Tedore Jr. and son, Tony (Lori) Tedore and family, David (Cindy) Tedore, Deanne (Scott) Cooper and family; Thomas (Agatha) Jundt and family, Nadine Jundt, Wanda (Mark) Giedd and family, Mike (Lynn) Jundt, Mark (Holly) Jundt and family, Paul (Bev) Jundt and son; and David (Jan) Jundt and family, Tressa (David) McMahon and daughters, Kelli (Marcus) Hammerseng and daughter, Amy (Andy) Dahlquist; also two sisters, Tillie Bahm and Mary Mildenberger.
Stella was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Adam F. Jundt; several brothers and sisters; one son-in-law, Roy Tedore Sr.; and one great-grandson, Ryan Tedore.
Memorials may be sent to the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center Foundation for the Pastoral Care Endowment Fund.
