Thomas James Jundt, 72, Bismarck, passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 15, 2013, at Sanford Health, Bismarck. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Wayne Sattler officiating. Burial will be at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today, with a rosary/vigil service beginning at 7 p.m., at DaWise-Perry Funeral Services, Mandan. Visitation continues one hour prior to the service at the church.
Tom was born July 21, 1941, in Bismarck, to Kasmer and Katherine (Lacher) Jundt. He was raised and educated in Bismarck. Tom served in the National Guard during the Berlin Crisis. He married Mary Jean "Jeanie" Dilger on June 18, 1960. He worked as a bricklayer and a bartender and was currently employed at B&J Tesoro.
Tom enjoyed life with his wife, spending time with family, playing pinochle, traveling, looking at Christmas lights and cheering on his grandchildren at sporting events.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanie; six children, Gwen Haux, Bismarck, Brenda (LeRoy) Gross, Jamestown, Stacey (Charles) Kills Pretty Enemy, Mobridge, S.D., Karla (Mike) Sheets, Moffit, and Daryl (Robin) Jundt and Wayne (Laura) Jundt, all of Mandan; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Loretta Schlittenhardt, Dorothy (Grant) Wicks and Marian Hochhalter; two brothers, Ralph Jundt and Bill and Carol Jundt, all of Bismarck; and many nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and his mother-in-law and father-in-law.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
