William Fandrich

GOODRICH - William Fandrich, 79, Goodrich, died Nov. 14, 2005, in a Tomball, Texas, hospital surrounded by his family. Services will be held at 1 p.m. today, Nov. 18, at Seventh-day Adventist Church, Goodrich. Burial will be in Seventh-day Adventist Cemetery, Goodrich.

William Fandrich was born Nov. 27, 1925, in Chaseley to William and Elizabeth (Hertz) Fandrich. He was married to Alma Heinle on July 28, 1946, in Goodrich, where they farmed for 59 years. William actively farmed his land until he was 71. It was that year when he and Alma starting spending winters in Michigan and Texas, where their children and grandchildren lived. In July 2005, William moved to the Tomball Nursing Center in Tomball.

Mr. Fandrich was a faithful member of Goodrich SDA church, serving in many capacities, including long- time deacon and cemetery sexton secretary.

William is survived by his wife, Alma; daughter, Carolyn Lehmann; and son, Dr. Curtis Fandrich; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Carolyn and Dennis Lehmann live in Houston, near their sons, Darren and his wife Helen and their children, William and Sarah and Dr. Shaun Lehmann. Dr. Curtis and Brenda Fandrich and their daughters, Meryl and Cara live in Magnolia, Texas. They moved from Zeeland, Mich., in 2004, when Curtis Fandrich joined his nephew Shaun in medical practice in Tomball. He also is survived by his brother, Gene Fandrich, Sacramento, Calif.; his sisters, Elsie Sevell, El Sereno, Calif., and Bertha Sharp, Bethel Island, Calif.; and two nephews, Jack and John Cooper, whom William and Alma raised.

William was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers and sisters, Walter, Uriah, Tabea, Lydia, Olga, Gust and Hattie.

William, husband, father, brother, uncle, friend, grandpa and "pea paw," you are loved and will be missed so very much. (Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey)

My sympathy to the family. I remember spending time at the Fandrich home one summer during camp meeting and they were such kind people. My sympathy to Carolyn and Dennis, as I attended SRA with you (KAthE Porter). May God bless and keep you during this time of sorrow.
