Allan K. Overgaard Obituary
He was born in Exira, Iowa to the late Andrew & Hilda Overgaard. He is also preceded in death by a son, Todd A. Overgaard, a sister, Anna Mae Snyder, a brother, Robert Overgaard, a son-in-law, Stephen D. Wheelon, and a brother-in-law, Robert Finn.
Al was a graduate of Gray High School and attended technical school. He moved to Hendersonville in 1978 having been transferred as manager of Simley Hosery. Al then owned and operated Blue Ridge Vending from 1992-2000; and retired in 2010 from Highland Lake Golf Course.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks, Knights of Columbus, and the Lions Club.
Al is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Janet Thelen Overgaard; two daughters, Brenda Overgaard Wheelon of Flat Rock and Traci Overgaard English and her husband William M. Ammann of Hendersonville; a daughter-in-law, Cindy F. Overgaard of Flat Rock; six grandchildren, Ashley R. Wheelon, Elizabeth R. Wheelon, Eric W. English, Alaina N. English, Matt A. Ammann, Rebekah Ammann, R. Tyler Ammann and Andrew M. Overgaard all of Hendersonville; and a sister, Audrey E. Finn.
A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 8, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the St. Francis Parish Hall of the church.
In lieu of flowers, Al's wish was to continue the memorial scholarship in honor of his late son, Todd A. Overgaard, Please send the memorial contributions to: Jan Overgaard, 319 Highland Golf Drive, Flat Rock, NC 28731.

been many years, but still have great memories of you as a neighbor...you will be missed by all that knew you...someday we will meet up again on the streets of gold so pure ....bless Jan as she goes thru this difficult time...RIP in peace ole friend....the angels are smiling for their newest addition to the heavenly gang!!!! I met Allan when he brought Christina's "granny" to visit her at the Margaret Moul Home. He seemed to be such a gracious and loving man. I personally thought it was wonderful that he drove such a distance to bring Christina's "granny" to visit with her at the Margaret Moul Home. It was a great gift to Christina! As a friend of Christina's, I appreciated Al's loving gesture very, very much!

My heartfelt sorrow goes out to the Overgaards. I can honestly say the Al was the man I admired most in my life.
God now has a stable of Guardian Angels with Al, Todd, Steve, and my dad. Just think of what they're doing.
