Larry Patterson Obituary

SPARTANBURG, SC-- Larry M. Patterson, 75, husband of Pat Garner Patterson, died Saturday morning, January 11, 2014 at his home.
Born July 11, 1938 in Brevard, NC, he was the son of the late Monroe Patterson and Melrose Tinsley Patterson Kilpatrick. Larry graduated from Rosman High School in Rosman, NC, and moved to Spartanburg, SC, where he was instrumental in the establishment of McNeil & Patterson Insurance Company. He was also a member of St. Francis Anglican Church.
In addition to his wife, Larry is survived by a daughter, Londa P. Bohl (Bill) of Bryson City, NC; his sister, Wanda P. Vallentine (Curt) of Hendersonville, NC; three grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Larry was predeceased by a daughter, Stacey Hammett of Spartanburg, SC.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 14th, 11:00am at St. Francis Anglican Church, officiated by RT. Reverend Timothy B. Farmer.
A reception will follow the service in the Breitweiser Hall.
In remembrance of Larry, memorials may be made to St. Francis Anglican Church, 601 Webber Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29307; or to the charity of one's choice.

My family will always remember Larry's friendship and in particular his support for my mom over the years. He was especially supportive when we lost my youngest brother several years ago. Larry could always light up a room, especially with his wit and wisdom. He will be greatly missed. Our sincere sympathies to Larry's entire family.

I was sad to hear of Larry's passing. I will never forget Larry's smile, friendliness, and wonderful personality. Larry also introduced me to one of my now favorite authors-David Balducci.My heart goes out to Pat, Londa and other family members of Larry. Rest in Peace, Larry-you deserve it.
