Perry Walden

1960 - 2018

Perry Stanley Walden, 57 of Walden Lane, Flat Rock, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018 at the Elizabeth House in Hendersonville, NC surrounded by his family. He was born December 5, 1960 in Fletcher, NC to Betty Deloris Bryson and the late Ben Houston Walden.
Perry was a life-long resident of Henderson County, where he worked for over twenty years as a mason. The last ten years of his life, he was employed with Hendersonville ABC and as the assistant manager of the Fletcher ABC. Perry enjoyed trips on the parkway taking in the beauty that surrounds us with his love, Candy. Outside of spending time with his family and friends Perry also took pleasure in fishing, spending Sunday afternoons, watching stock car racing (Not cheering for Kyle Busch), years of playing tennis every Wednesday and Sunday with his usual tennis buddies, and watching Carolina Tarheel basketball (Go Heels!). We were blessed to have learned many life lessons from him such as what it means to be hard working and to have a great work ethic, taking pride in all that you have and do, and always make your bed!
Left to cherish his memory in addition to his mother are his two sons, Sean Ryan Walden and wife, Stacy of Old Fort and Steven Thomas Walden and wife, Amber of Lake Norman; fiancé, Candy Pressley of the home; two grandchildren, Peyton Avery Walden and Addison Brynleigh Walden; three brothers, Ben Dean Walden, Johnny Houston Walden and Mitchell Edward Walden (Perry's brother and life-long best friend); several nieces and nephews; Penelope, the one and only dog ever allowed in his house; and by two grand-dogs, Dexter and Drama of Lake Norman.
His family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Thos. Shepherd & Son Funeral Home. Private burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations in Perry's memory be directed to Four Seasons Hospice, Elizabeth House, 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
