William Hodge Obituary
William Benson Hodge went to be with the Lord Monday, July 19, 2021 at the age of 78. Benson was a native to Rutherford County and was preceded in death by his parents William Orell (Pete) Hodge and Lena Sparks Hodge as well as his brother Harold (Gomer) Hodge. Surviving siblings include Martina Toney, Pat Hodge, Danny (Jennifer) Hodge, and Diane (Ricky) Holland. Benson was married to Charlotte Jean Byers Hodge for 27 years and together they have 3 children; Mickey (Mary Alice) Hodge Denver NC, and twin Ricky (Kimberly) Hodge Hendersonville NC and daughter Tracy (Jimmy) Crowe of Rutherfordton NC. They also have 7 grandchildren; Cody (Misty) Hodge, Kaylah (Mason) Bryant, Whitney (Dustin) Wooten, Jordon Crowe, Heidi (Casey) Barnes, Andy (Shellie) Harbin, Betsy (Brian) LeFevers. Benson also has 11 great grandchildren, Keira Hodge, Madison Carland, Kayson Bryant and twin Aydin Bryant, Laney Barnes, Olivia Harbin, Jack Harbin, Brandon LeFevers, Mona LeFevers, Cam LeFevers and soon to be Paisley Wooten. Benson began his career as a textile worker, heavy equipment operator, deputy sheriff, and farrier. He graduated from Fruitland Bible Institute to become a Baptist minister. He held certificates in building inspector and retired as the fire inspector of Rutherford County. Benson later married Rachel Price and he has 2 step children Allen (Sherry) Price and Barbara Feree. He also has 3 step grandchildren Brooke Price, Michael Price, Brent Feree and 3 step great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Mills Spring NC on Thursday July 22nd at 2pm officiated by Rev. Matt Morgan. Family will be receiving friends from 1-2pm Thursday. Graveside burial will be at the church. The family would like to thank Crowe's Mortuary for assisting in the funeral arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to the church.
