Charles Taylor Obituary

Charles "Charlie" Franklin Taylor went home to his Savior on Nov. 19, 2025, at his home. He was born in Keytesville, on May 6, 1935, to James Milton Taylor and Ethel Blanche (Heiman) Taylor in his grandparents' farm home. He graduated from Northwestern High School in Mendon. While in high school, he was an apprentice electrician and plumber with a local employer.
After completing his formal education, he served two years in the U.S. Army, where part of his service was in South Korea. He received an honorable discharge on Feb. 1, 1960.
Charlie was preceded in death by his mother and father. Also preceding him was his brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Helen Taylor, and their son, James Taylor.
Remaining in the home is his wife, Shalene. They married in 1969. She will miss him greatly, as you seldom saw one without the other. He will also be missed by his niece and her husband, Katherine and Steven Davidson, their daughter and her husband, Ashley and Aaron Thomas, and their two children, Braxton and Blakely Thomas.
Charlie was a member of the Mendon UMC in Mendon, although he affiliated with Bethel Assembly of God Church in Hermitage.
Arrangements and cremation were under the direction of Hathaway-Peterman Funeral Home, Wheatland. The private family service was Tuesday, Nov. 25, at Old Mendon Cemetery, Mendon.
