Guy Henry Obituary

Guy Elton Henry, 102, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2022, at Medical Lodges in Nevada. He was the widower of Joyce Henry who preceded him in death in 2018. They shared 44 years of marriage together.

Guy was born just outside of Humansville on March 1, 1920, to William and Lelia Martin Henry. The family ran a farm, general store and a blacksmith shop in a little place called Bugtussle. Guy attended Highpoint school through the eighth grade.

Guy served in the Army during WWII primarily in the Philippines and New Guinea, obtaining the rank of Private First Class, 6th Cavalry Reconnaissance Troop. After returning from the war he settled in Kansas City, where he worked for Armco Steel, Union Wire Rope for 32 years. He retired in 1981 and moved his wife Joyce and daughter Lora to Humansville.

Guy was very proud of his military service and accomplishments and his 32 years at Armco Steel. He also enjoyed spending his retired years camping and fishing the rivers and creeks in the area. He also enjoyed being an active member of the Humansville VFW post.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 24 years, Dolly, his second wife of 44 years Joyce, his parents and siblings Nina, Beulah, Glen, Velma, Charles, and half siblings Lora, Pearl and George.

Guy is survived by his daughter Lora Hendrick, stepson Albert Reiman, granddaughter Aubrey Lisenby, along with nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service was Monday, Nov. 28, at the Humansville Cemetery.
