James Wilson Obituary

James Robert Wilson passed away peacefully, Friday, Sept. 26, 2025, at 2:30 p.m., at Christian Hospital in St. Louis, after a long illness. James was born Feb. 29, 1972, "a leap year baby", in Springfield, to Henry and Leanna (Neil) Wilson of Bolivar.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Loyal "Bub" and Lorene (Rotramel) Neil, Harry and Florence (Pool) Wilson. Two uncles, Lee Edward Neil and Jimmy Wilson, both of Bolivar.

James is survived by his parents; one son Cody Joe Mackey, a daughter Adalida Raine Wilson, both of Bolivar; a brother Paul (Julie) Wilson of Columbia; aunts and uncles, Linda Neil of Bolivar, Lanelda (George) Presley of Aldrich, Bob (Patricia) Wilson of Bolivar; Irene Bieller of Springfield, Charlotte DeBauche of Pittsburg; Ronnie Wilson, Connie (Stacey) Sikes, both of Bolivar, and Donnie (Susie) Wilson of Brighton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, along with many friends.

Jim Bob graduated from Morrisville High School in 1991. As a young man, he enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and working on cars. He had a good heart. His addiction made for a very hard life. He has been in and out of many nursing homes and homeless shelters for the last 10-15 years. Now he can truly "Rest in Peace."

Jim asked to be cremated and his ashes spread in Slagle Creek, where Paul spent many long hours, enjoying the great outdoors.
